Chocolate brownie cake


Ingredients

  1. 100g butter
  2. 175g caster sugar
  3. 75g light brown or muscovado sugar
  4. 125g chocolate
  5.  (plain or milk)
  6. 1 tbsp golden syrup
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 1 tsp vanilla extract /essence
  9. 100g plain flour
  10. ½ tsp baking powder
  11. 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Method

  1. Heat kitchen appliance to 180C/fan 160C/gas four. Grease and line a 20cm cake tin.
  2. Place the butter, powdered sugar, refined sugar, chocolate and syrup within the pan and soften gently on an occasional heat till it's sleek and lump-free.
  3. Remove the pan from the warmth.
  4. Break the eggs into the bowl and whisk with the fork till light-weight and frothy. five Add the eggs, vanilla or essence, flour, leavening and chocolate to the chocolate mixture and blend completely.
  5. Put the mixture into the lubricated and lined cake tin and place on the center shelf of the kitchen appliance. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Remove and permit to chill for 20-30 minutes before cutting into wedges and serving.
  7. Serve with cream or frozen dessert and lots of recent fruit.
