Chocolate brownie cake
Ingredients
- 100g butter
- 175g caster sugar
- 75g light brown or muscovado sugar
- 125g chocolate
- (plain or milk)
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract /essence
- 100g plain flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
Method
- Heat kitchen appliance to 180C/fan 160C/gas four. Grease and line a 20cm cake tin.
- Place the butter, powdered sugar, refined sugar, chocolate and syrup within the pan and soften gently on an occasional heat till it's sleek and lump-free.
- Remove the pan from the warmth.
- Break the eggs into the bowl and whisk with the fork till light-weight and frothy. five Add the eggs, vanilla or essence, flour, leavening and chocolate to the chocolate mixture and blend completely.
- Put the mixture into the lubricated and lined cake tin and place on the center shelf of the kitchen appliance. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove and permit to chill for 20-30 minutes before cutting into wedges and serving.
- Serve with cream or frozen dessert and lots of recent fruit.
